Following last year’s great success, we will in 2010 hold for the second time the Watercolor Symposium in the beautiful town of Paraty, south of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil). Starting August 25th the event will go on until the 29th, including workshops, an official exhibition, lectures, demonstrations, etc.
Besides several national invited artists we will have the presence of the very well known American watercolor artist Frank Francese (www.ffrancese.com) as our special guest. He is to be our main instructor for workshops and demonstrations.
One can participate in the Symposium or just send watercolor paintings to the Official Show to be held at the Casa da Cultura, which is the centerpoint institution for artistic activities in Paraty. Entries for the Show can be sent until June 30th and will cost US 150.00. The paintings are to be sent to Paraty until July 15th and will be exhibited from August 25th through September 18th. The entry form can be found at the web site www.navegareart.com.br (contato@navegareart.com.br). Inscriptions for the Symposium can be done until the very first day of the event and a fee of US 100.00 will be charged. More information can be seen at the same web site, as well as some photos of last year’s event.

Your well-being is our major concern!
We've had another successful year 2009 in which so many artists have enjoyed the pleasures of visiting and painting in Catalonia with the world's most outstanding tutors. They've met other fellow artists from all over the world and become their friends, their painting has experienced a dramatic improvement and they have another unforgettable experience in their hearts. Now I would like to offer you the program for our 2010 courses.
In June Steve Hall is going to have his inspiring workshop in Roses. From this starting point right by the sea, there will be daily excursions to paint. These tours include the coastal town of Cadaqués, home of Salvador Dali, Besalú, with its spectacular Roman Bridge and Jewish Quarter and the city of Girona.
After his first contact with our area, Charles was delighted to paint Besalú, Cadaqués and North Costa Brava. Now he's coming back for another exciting adventure to south Costa Brava, to the unspoilt Sant Feliu de Guíxols and one of his favourite subjects: fishing boats and old buildings. The workshop includes also a variety of subject matter: landscapes, seascapes, harbours, interiors, old photographs and figure painting. What an exciting adventure!
Masterful tuition, good atmosphere and a wonderful time by the sea, on the most beautiful Spanish coast, south Costa Brava and Barcelona in JUNE 2010. Still unspoilt, St. Feliu de Guixols has everything a painter is looking for: good weather, lots of sunshine, cosy town, a port and some of the most breathtaking beaches with turquoise blue waters. But, best of all, we’ll have 2 FULL DAYS in Barcelona: remember the Ramblas, Gaudi’s buildings, the Sagrada Familia and Parc Güell, and to finish off the day, the music and light show at the fountains of Montjuïc!
Australian watercolourist Joseph Zbukvic will paint beautiful Catalonia for the SECOND time next October 2010. For this unique occasion he's chosen CADAQUES, Dali's hometown, due to its high inspirational value. Its church, fishing boats, blue sea and white houses against the mountain in the heart of Cape of Creus National Park, are well-known landmarks that so many painters worldwide have immortalised.
His mixed watermedia using watercolour and acrylics in big dimensions intend to explore all forms of expression and enhance our creativity, using all that painting with water has to offer. Intens colours, lovely effects, looseness and freedom explain his style, no boundaries to express our love and celebration of live using our best inner capacities.
